Financial Liberty Through Entrepreneurship

Introduction

•There is no doubt that God wants His children to prosper and He is concerned about us and want us to have good things in life (3 John 2; Isaiah 1:19, Deut. 8:18, etc).

•God wants us to not only be spiritually liberated but also financially disciplined with the resources He had committed into our hands and to use them for His kingdom purposes.

•Matthew 8:36 ask us a question???Therefore, we must dare to be different. Don’t be caught in the web of 1 Timothy 6:10!

•Represent your maker well and you will forever abide in the beautiful embrace of His loving arms – N.E Agu.

Financial Liberty?

What it is..

•In the words of Brother Kenneth Hagins, financial liberty simply entails unlocking the blessings of God in your life! It is understanding the scriptural principles to accessing the storehouse of God on earth( Psalm 1:1-3)…note: …whatsoever he does, shall prosper!

•In other words, financial liberty involves identifying the survival strategies in the period of financial hardship. (see the case of Isaac in Gerar in Genesis 26:1-3).

•Joseph devised a strategy in Genesis 41:54-57, which helped in storing 20% of grains for seven consecutive years of plenty against subsequent seven years of famine, which later happened and ravaged the entire world sparing only Egypt which had carried out the God- given plan through Joseph!

•Financial Liberty also entails understanding the power of vision to overcome the challenges of economic hardship.

•The initial step to walking in financial liberty, is to appreciate and understand the need for financial independence.

•Reject and rebuke poverty by working and praying your way into breakthrough!

•Your words are powerful, so what you say goes a long way to either establish or destroy you. This is why you should say things that God has said concerning you, not things that situations or circumstances say…

Entrepreneurship

•Entrepreneurship is the process of creating something new with value by devoting necessary time and effort, assuming the accompanying financial, psychological and social risks, and receiving the rewards of monetary, personal satisfaction and independence.(Adeboye B. et al).

•The e-business dictionary defines entrepreneurship as “the capacity and willingness to develop and manage a business venture, along with any of its risks in order to make profit..

•But I would rather say that Entrepreneurship is not only about setting of businesses but it essentially involves looking inwards to stair up the best gift(s) which God had deposited in us(2 Timothy 1:6) and make the most of them to affect this generation and the future ones to come if Jesus Christ tarries

Who is an Entrepreneur?

•Entrepreneurs are liberated people who have understood and practiced the principles and strategies of walking in financial liberty. They are intelligent people who utilize their skills, time, resources and energy effectively. They are emotionally stable and healthy. They SMART goals in life and pursue them vigorously.

•They have business ideas even without attending business school and have the right drive and passion to succeed no matter the costs!

•An Entrepreneur is an innovator. Innovation is the specific instrument that endows resources with a new capacity to create wealth.

•Entrepreneurs are simply those who understand that there is difference between obstacles and opportunities and are able to turn both to their advantage (Niccolo Maachiavelli).

NB: OUR VALUE IN LIFE IS DETERMINED NOT BY WHAT WE HAVE BUT BY WHAT WE DO WITH WHAT WE HAVE!

Financial Liberty through Entrepreneurship

•Entrepreneurship is a key to transforming an individual, a family, a society a nation and the world at large.

•Wealth and a high majority of jobs are created by small businesses which are started by entrepreneurially-minded individuals.

•Financial Liberty therefore starts from developing the right mindset, which serves as the power of a transformed mind (Prov. 23:7).

•To have the right mindset, one must cultivate the habit of renewing one’s mind daily in the word of God- This is a powerful link to financial intelligence.

•Financial intelligence can be gotten by seeking knowledge. Go to the ants and learn hardwork ( prov. 6:6-11). Go to the eagle bird and learn the power of vision and renewing one’s strength (Isaiah 40:31). Go to an ass and learn humility (Philippians 2:10.). These character traits will enable one to learn.

What do I need to do to be financially independent?

•To be financially intelligent, you need to learn:

-The Economic & Legal considerations of business formation; making of business plans and proposals; writing of feasibility studies, etc (for more details, pick a copy of the books on entrepreneurship and business management).

-How to identify investment opportunities in Nigeria; kick-starting a business in a small way;

– Business financing and risk management in Entrepreneurship.

-Computer Application and Management Information system;

– Mentoring & learning from master Entrepreneurs.

You need training!

•Training as a concept implies awakening of dormant or latent skills, knowledge and attitude so that a desired improvement could occur in job performance and ultimately lead to the development of a new individual and an effective and result-oriented organisation.

•Sustaining success takes continuous training, re-assessment and regular watchfulness because in life, staying at the top is more difficult than getting there! Success is more difficult to manage than failure.

You need to pray!!!

•Prayer is the key that unlocks the storehouse of God’s blessings.

•Prayer is very needful at these times we found ourselves in. God needs to direct us to what we should in life!

•Prayer is the oil that lubricates the friction of disappointment and failure along the road to success in life.

•To be a successful Entrepreneur, pray as if all depends on God and work as if all depends on you!

CONCLUSION

•To discover your purpose in life, you must turn your life to God’s word.

•By God’s endeavor, God has already supplied all our needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)

•For the thoughts of God towards us are not evil but good, to give us our expectations( Jeremiah 29:11).

•Therefore, God has already made adequate provisions for your success in life, if you believe Him!

•May God lift you up in Jesus name.

•Remain rapturable till we meet again.
